Kevin Reynen spent the last 2 years as the lead developer for the Knight News Challenge funded Open Media Project. This project goes well beyond encoding video for playback on the web. It allows viewers to run an actual TV channel. That's right! Drupal users determine what airs on TV in several US cities. Think of it as sharing the remote of TiVo with hundreds of your neighbors. The modules developed for the Open Media Project include everything from encoding, Creative Commons licensing, metadata, and managing equipment checkouts.

Creating Online Surveys with Drupal

Gabriel Dragomir 7 June 2010
Type:  Not planned session

Online surveying with Drupal is commonly associated with modules like Poll and Webform. Complex surveys for social and marketing research require a lot more features than what is provided from these (excellent!) modules, like the ability to build scales and specialized question types, question filtering, question routes, controlled survey delivery or exporting data to statistical analysis software packages. This session will introduce a new Drupal distribution profile currently in development and aimed to be a powerfull surveying solution. You will find out how it can help you to:
- create and manage complex surveys that feature question routing/filtering
- deploy public surveys and targeted surveys with email/token based access
- use predefined question types and build your own question types easily
- export data for further analysis to a third party statistical software package

Did all that SEO Module stuff I just did work?

Mark Brown 4 June 2010
Type:  Not planned session

Drupal has a comprehensive collection of modules for optimizing sites, including the SEO Checklist. After you’ve checked the last item on the checklist you are going to want to know if everything worked and if there is anything else you can do. To help with this there is a free tool created by Microsoft that you can run to see what a search engine sees when it looks at your sites.
