Federico Pistono is a filmmaker, blogger and computer scientist. In 2002, at the age of 16, he receives a full scholarship for the international college UWCAD, a placed focused on the international understanding between different cultures, living away from home together with 200 students from 82 countries.
In 2007 he founds the "Grilli biellesi" (http://grillibiellesi.org), a non-profit organisation which deals with social issues, particularly with energy, the environment, information, waste, connectivity and water as a right to life.
Since 2008, he works in a media farm in Verona as filmmaker and web programmer, with a focus on new media and on how new technologies affect society as a whole.
In 2009 he receives a Bachelor of Science in Informatics at the University of Verona, department of Mathematical, Physics, and Natural Sciences, with the dissertation "Open Source implementations of encoding algorithms for video distribution in the HTML5 era".
In 2009 he wins an international blogging and journalism competition about climate change organised by the European Journalism Centre, he's sent as a reporter to the COP15 in Copenhagen (http://federicopistono.org).
Since 2009 he's Italian chapter coordinator of the Zeitgeist Movement (http://zeitgeistitalia.org), and international movement defined as the "activist arm" of the Venus Project. The Venus Project is a non-profit organisation that proposes a feasible plan of action for social change; one that works toward a peaceful and sustainable global civilization, calling for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old problems of war, poverty, hunger, debt, and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable. As of July 2010, after little more than a year after it was founded, the Zeitgeist Movement has more than 420 thousand members from all over the world.
